Fall Sports Wrap-Up

We already covered football and cross country, but how did the other half fare?

Varsity Girls Tennis played a strong season finishing 11-4 and making it to the third round of the CIF championships. Captained by Shelley Vohr ’14 and Auden Ehringer ’14, the team elected Grace Bingham ’15 the Most Valuable Player, Olivia Simonson ’14 the Most Inspirational Player, and Lili Boyle ’14 the Most Improved Player.  Auden Ehringer said the team’s favorite moments were on “Music Mondays” where they listened to Miley Cyrus and One Direction – or as Coach Pete Fagan called them, “One Dimension.”

Led by captains Ciara Byrne ’14 and Lexie Kirkwood ’14, Varsity Volleyball played a rough, but memorable season in the Condor League. The season highlight: over Family Weekend they played a game against Providence Hall, barely losing in the 5th tiebreaker set.  “Although we didn’t have many wins, I certainly had a lot of fun,” said Byrne, voted the team’s Most Valuable Player.  The Thacher team also voted Elsabet Jones ‘16 the Most Improved Player.  Next year’s team captains and coach have yet to be determined, as this fall’s coach, Justine Zenner, has made the decision to return to college.
